Imo ex-Chief of Staff, Jude Ejiogu stages return to politics, drums support for Uzodimma

From Everest Ezihe, Owerri

Last Saturday, Umuakuru Emekuku in Owerri North council area of Imo State, the ancestral home of Sir Jude Ejiogu, was a political Mecca as mainly distinguished politicians of All Progressive Congress, APC from Owerri Senatorial zone and Imo State at large with pomp and pageantry were there and accorded him worthy reception  back to their fold after 3 years of political sabbatical leave.

An impressively and overwhelmed Ejiogu who was Chief of Staff to Imo State government during the Rescue Mission administration of Owelle Rochas Okorocha said his major mission of coming back into Imo politics again is to revive, give hope and confidence to his political structure and to ensure that Governor Hope Uzodimma is returned back to Douglas House, Owerri to complete his second tenure during this November 11th INEC segmented gubernatorial election in the state, inview of his people oriented governance and legacy projects.

It’s pertinent to recall that, the renowned political stalwart with pedigree and antecedents since 2020 suddenly went into political oblivion leaving his intimidating political followers and structure to be like sheep without Shepherd, thus his coming back would definitely strengthened APC strong hold in Emekuku/Emii political bloc of the local government area.

He expressed happiness for the crowd and for his acceptance back to the grassroot political family and assured them of his commitments towards their welfare and accelerated development of the area.

According to him, ” am here to deliver. Our stronghold is APC. I was one of the people that brought APC to Imo State and Owerri North, by then I was Chief of Staff to Imo State Government. I cannot abandoned this great family. Yes ! I was on a political sabbatical leave for over 3 years now. I have rested enough. We’re here to give support to Imo State government of Governor Hope Uzodimma. Truely speaking, Governor Uzodimma is God sent to Imo people.

“Am in trench supporting his second tenure ambition. Am calling all and sundry to give the Governor the maximum support to complete his constitutional 2nd tenure because he’s performing. He is not corrupt. He is just a silent achiever. He has good heart. We will deliver him because he has done well. He has connected the State with network of good roads. He has brought social security to Imo citizens. On my honour, am in the forefront of the battle to deliver distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma for the 2nd tenure” he assured.

Speaking also Chief Henry Njoku (Harritex) described the reception as wonderful and Ejiogu as an age long good friend with impeccable character, for which he said he is in solidarity with him.

Njoku passionately advised the politicians to imbibe the spirit of accommodating and forgiveness noting that the political land mass is massive enough to accommodate all and sundry.

Ikeoha as he is popularly known in line with his chieftaincy title pointed out that Governor Uzodimma is a good market that sales itself while further canvassing for the need for them to work as one united political family.

In his speech, Kelechi Azuwuike, APC Owerri North LGA Chairman expressed satisfaction with the calibre of politicians that are dumping their political parties in the area just to join the ruling party.

That as a chairman, it gives him special satisfaction seeing political leaders of other political parties joining APC in there thousands noting the number of the decampees at the occasion as a total collapse and boost to APC.

Azuwuike assured the Governor that with the number and quality of the politicians that carpet crossed to APC as well as the kind of leaders they have in Owerri North that the council area is sealed and delivered to him in the forthcoming governorship election.

He gave the decampees broom as a symbol of authority from the party and assured them of their total incooperation in terms of all rights and privileges accruing to party members while tasking them on the need to fish for more members.

Other leaders that spoke include; Hon. Tony Umezuruike, the Sole Administrator of the council area, Dr. Anthony Iheduru, the first executive chairman of the local government area, Hon. Damian Oparah, the Coordinator Emii/Emekuku political Bloc, Hon. Francis Ejiogu (Ndaa Auntie, Jagaban) and Barr.Obi Jone among others as they all poured encomium to Chief Judge Ejiogu and the governor while reassuring of their unalloyed support to the APC government in the State and the nation at large.
