Paris Games opener, a breathtaking show

After breathtaking opening ceremonies, which took place on the Seine River, passing through the central area of the city of Paris, actions will return to the many venues where the real competition is taking place.

Two Presidents of the national sports federations on ground in Paris to catch the events of the ceremonies, Francis Obirh of Nigeria Badminton Federation and Chief Dafney Chinonye Aliyu, Nigeria Aquatic Federation, have said the show is not only fantastic but very refreshing.

”A lot of energy and creativity had gone into the elaborate show. Paris is famed for Art, and I am not surprised they dug into history to create the spectacle on display,” noted Aliyu.

For Obirh, the free-flowing ceremonial ceremony reflects the French’s long history through the medieval and the revolution that gave birth to the modern era.

Meanwhile, contrary to any soothsayers’ predictions that Nigeria might not fly its flag among the 206 countries, the green, white green fluttered.

”The NOC President, Engr. Habu Gumel had consistently assured us that Nigeria had no problems.

‘’We are here as we no longer have problem with WADA. We have met the conditions required by the World Anti-doping Agency.

It must also be stated that to effectively cover the Paris Olympic Games, one must be internet savvy.

Things ordinarily performed manually have gone online. Moving from one location to another is largely controlled via the network.

To even navigate the city, the. Some of the places could be very nearby but would require online facilitation.

”This is the real electronic Games.’’
