Paul Maduakor resigns as President of Nigeria Amputee Football Federation

In what will come as a surprise to many people, the President of Amputee Football Federation of Nigeria, Paul Maduakor Wednesday resigned his position.

Maduakor who submitted his letter of resignation citing personal reasons for his decision also confirmed to newstap.com.ng that he has decided to throw in the towel because of personal reasons.

He stated that although he’s stepping down but he will continue to give his support to the Federation noting that he’s happy with the successes achieved under his watch

Taking a look at his tenure he said “I’m proud of the journey we’ve undertaken together to strengthen our community. With every challenge we’ve overcome, I’m reminded of the resilience of this team and its unyielding spirit. Every player, partner, and supporter has contributed to what we’ve built.”

Under his leadership, the Federation introduced initiatives that not only elevated the profile of amputee football across Nigeria but also expanded competitive opportunities for athletes with disabilities, fostering a stronger sense of community and inclusion.

Maduakor also promised to work closely with the board and any incoming leadership to ensure a smooth transition, demonstrating his continued dedication to the Federation’s vision.

With this development, Nigeria Amputee Football Federation’s board is expected to begin the process of selecting new leadership immediately. This change marks the beginning of a new era for the Federation, which remains poised to build upon Maduakor’s legacy, advancing opportunities for athletes with disabilities and strengthening communities through the power of sport.
