…Five countries and six cities to host the third edition of Jordan Nwora Elite Basketball Camp

Two games will be decided today as the NBBF TotalEnergies Atlantic Conference Division 2 League finals enters day 2 in the garden city of Port Harcourt.

Books & Ball meets Anambra State in the first game of Match Day 2 while Raptors Academy of Lagos takes on Federal Polytechnic Nekede in the second game of the day.

On Monday, High Flyers defeated Books & Ball of Osogbo 52 to 47 points in the first game of the Atlantic Conference finals. 7/7, 19/10, 13/13 and 13/17.

In the second game played on Monday, Favour Arena of Port Harcourt went down to Raptors Academy of Lagos 48 to 70 points. 11/17, 10/19, 13/14 and 14/20.

The top two teams in each group advance to the semi finals and the winner of the Conference gets an NBBF TotalEnergies Division 1 ticket.

In a related development, Showtyme Hoopers and Hoop Dreams continued their sweet run in the maiden edition of the Ibadan City Basketball League (ICBL) which is five weeks old.

Showtyme Hoopers inflicted the second defeat in a row on Egbeda LG 55 to 46 points.

The win keeps the Shola Durojaye lads on top of the table of the Olubadan group of the ICBL with 8 points. Trust Hoopers are second on the log with 7 points after they beat The Polytechnic 48 to 41 points.

Hoop Dreams leads the GSM group of the Ibadan City Basketball League ICBL with 6 points ahead of Unibadan with 5 points, Liberty Spears are on 4 points while Loyola Warriors are first from the bottom with 3 points.

Hoop Dream at the weekend maintained their unbeaten run with a 46 to 34 win over Liberty Spears.

Meanwhile, the organizers of the annual Jordan Nwora Elite Basketball Camp have selected six cities in five countries to host the third edition of the Camp.

Retired Col. Sam Ahmedu the Elite Basketball Camp Director, said two cities, Onitsha and Lagos in Nigeria, along with Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire, Nairobi, Kenya, Cotonou in Benin Republic as well as USA have been carefully selected to host over 600 kids in this year’s edition.

The Elite Basketball Camp starts from the Kenyan capital Nairobi on the 16th of June and ends on the 18th. Sixty boys and 40 girls drawn from host Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi and Rwanda are expected to sharpened their slamming and dunking skills during the Camp.

The Elite Basketball Camp caravan will move from Nairobi to Abidjan. Kids from Burkina Faso, Liberia, Mali, Ghana and host country Cote D’Ivoire will be taking part in the Camp.

Young hoopers from Togo, Niger Republic and Benin Republic will congregate in Cotonou for the third leg of the Elite Basketball Camp while Onitsha and Lagos in Nigeria will host the fourth and final leg of the Africa series.

Top and experienced coaches led by former D’Tigers coach Alex Nwora will be on hand to train and mentor the kids.
