Prostar Sports International, NNL Honor January’s Best At Prestigious Awards Ceremony In Abuja

The Nigeria National League (NNL), in partnership with Prostar Sports International, hosted a grand awards ceremony today at the NNL Secretariat in Abuja, recognizing the outstanding performers of January 2025. The event was attended by top football dignitaries who praised Prostar’s commitment to football development and the motivation these awards provide to players, coaches, and referees.

Dignitaries in attendance included Barrister Musa Amadu, former NFF General Secretary; Emmanuel Babayaro, Atlanta ‘96 Olympic gold medalist; Emmanuel Attah, NNL CEO; Ameenu Adebayo, NFF Referees Committee Secretary; Dr. Ayo Abdulrahman, NNL COO; Ude Uchenna Favour, representing Prostar Sports International; and Mr. Jide-Ojo, Prostar’s Brand Consultant, representing CEO Ambassador Paul Maduakor.

Prostar Sports International continues to raise the bar in football recognition with its monthly awards initiative, which has been likened to the Ballon d’Or for the NNL. Alongside the prestigious trophies, Prostar also presented branded jerseys and high-quality match balls to the winners, reinforcing its commitment to excellence in Nigerian football.

The winners for January 2025 included:

Best Goalkeeper: Musa Ibrahim (Doma United) – Multiple clean-sheet performances.

Highest Goal Scorer & Most Valuable Player (MVP): Chijioke Okafor (Sporting Lagos) – Scored five goals in four matches and won three Man of the Match awards.

Best Coach: Bello Yusuf (Mighty Jets FC) – Led his team to an unbeaten month.

Best Behaved Team: ABS FC – No yellow or red cards throughout the month.

Best Referee: Usman Bello (Kaduna Referees Council) – Recognized for consistency and fairness in officiating, sponsored by NNL live streaming partners, SPORTS LIGHT HUB.

Speaking at the ceremony, Barrister Musa Amadu commended Prostar’s vision. “Recognizing excellence is how we inspire greatness in football. Prostar’s dedication to the NNL is invaluable, and this initiative will go a long way in motivating our players, coaches, and referees.”

Emmanuel Babayaro emphasized the importance of motivation. “Football thrives on passion and recognition. When players, coaches, and referees see their hard work rewarded, it pushes them to do better. Prostar is making a real difference in Nigerian football.”

NNL CEO Emmanuel Attah highlighted the league’s significance.

“The NNL is Nigeria’s most critical football league, promoting clubs to the NPFL and welcoming teams from NLO One.

With Prostar’s investment, we are setting new benchmarks for excellence in the league.”

Representing Prostar Sports International, Mr. Jide-Ojo reaffirmed the company’s commitment.

“Prostar believes in Nigerian football. Our investment in the NNL, from providing top-quality match balls to establishing these prestigious awards, is part of our long-term vision to develop the game and encourage the best performances from our teams.”

At the commencemt the event, attendees observed a one-minute silence in honor of the mother of Prostar CEO, Ambassador Paul Maduakor, who sadly passed away this morning. The football community stood in solidarity, offering their condolences.
