Peter Obi takes Nasarawa State

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party,Mr. Peter Obi, has won Saturday’s presidential election in Nasarawa State, having scored the highest number of votes.

The former Anambra governor polled 191,361 votes, pushing his closest rival, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, who scored 172,922 votes to the second position.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar, 147,093 votes to occupy the third place.The INEC collation officer in Nasarawa State, Prof. Ishaya Tanko, the Vice Chancellor, University of Jos, who announced the result, also disclosed that the NNPP presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, scored a total of 12,715 votes.
