Sports Minister condemns kidnapping of Journalists
Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Enoh has strongly condemned the kidnap of journalists who were in the line of duty, by suspected hoodlums in Isseke Community, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra state.
The journalists were on their way to Uyo,Akwa Ibom State ,to cover the 2025 AFCON qualifier between the Super Eagles and the Mediterranean Knights of Libya before they were kidnapped.
Seven of them have been rescued by officers of the Joint Security Force in Anambra State. To this moment,three of them are still held captive and one deceased.
In a statement he personally signed, the Minister thanked men of the Joint Security Force for the quick intervention and efforts being made to see to the safe release of the remaining three even as he prayed for their immediate safe return and the repose of the soul of the departed.
He prayed that God Almighty will grant the family of the deceased his colleagues and the entire sports community the fortitude to bear the loss.
