SSA Adeboye, Olofinjana Set To Partner For Grassroots Football Development

The Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Sports Development to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Anthony Adeyinka Adeboye, has taken a step further in his continued efforts to grow, develop and promote grassroots sports in Nigeria.
Speaking with journalists after receiving former Super Eagles player, Seyi Olofinjana in his Abuja office, Adeboye expressed his delight on the courtesy visit, stating that it holds well for sports development in the country.
He disclosed that the discussion focused on the future of grassroots sports development in Nigeria, particularly on youth empowerment, talent identification and the need to strengthen community-based sports structures across the country.
“I commend Seyi Olofinjana for his immense contributions to Nigerian football and for his continued passion for nurturing young talents. Former national team players bring invaluable experience and global exposure that can greatly support our efforts to build a strong and sustainable grassroots sports ecosystem.
“Grassroots sports remain the foundation of national sporting success and under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Federal Government is committed to repositioning sports as a powerful tool for youth development, unity, and national growth,” the vastly experienced sports administrator added.
On his part, Olofinjana expressed his willingness to contribute meaningfully to initiatives aimed at discovering and mentoring young talents.
The former Wolves of England midfielder said, “I welcome the opportunity for collaboration in advancing our shared vision for grassroots sports development.
“This engagement reinforces the importance of partnerships between government and sports veterans, in creating lasting impact and opening greater opportunities for Nigerian youths through sports,” he added.
