Uzodimma plans Operations Committees for government MDAs
Governor Hope Uzodimma has hinted about setting up Committees that will coordinate the operations of the ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) in relation to the public in Imo State.
The Operations Committees, is the Governor’s immediate response to the blanket ban on all forms of taskforces, mainly illegal ones, whose members operate under the guise of MDAs in the State, and in most cases, constitute a nuisance to the public with their activities which also dent the image of the government.
Members of the Operations Committees who are to be unveiled shortly will have their terms of reference and mode of operation properly spelt out for them in the new arrangement.
More importantly, the Committees
and the MDAs they work for
will be held responsible for engaging in activities not in conformity with official set goals going forward.
On Thursday, April 3, 2025, the Governor directed the ban on all illegal taskforces in the State.
He further directed that security modalities be put in place to implement full compliance on the ban as well as to maintain sanity, pending the full deployment of members of the new Committees.
