World renowned wrestler, McDowell distributes palliatives to West African wrestlers

World renowned dentist and wrestling champion, American Jim McDowell has continued to identify with wrestlers in the West African sub- region as he for the second year running donated sachet rice to wrestlers in Nigeria, Togo and Benin Republic.
The gesture which was first extended to the fighters on December 24, 2023 by the founder of Golden Wrestling Federacy, based in Florida, United States of America with the 2024 edition carried out last week is in line with his commitment to not only take wrestling to all the nooks and crannies of the African continent, but to give wrestlers a sense of belonging.

Distributing the food stuff on his behalf, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Golden Wrestling Federacy who also doubles as the Secretary General of Pro- Wrestling Africa (PWA) the body that serves as the mouthpiece of professional wrestling in the continent, Sesan Olukoya said the gesture is in tandem with the world champion’s plan of appreciating wrestlers who participated at the PWA end- of- the year championship as well as supporting African initiatives.

Olukoya who was in Agoe, Lome, Togo on Thursday, January, 9, 2025 where he presented the items to that country’s wrestling Federation known as CATCH team also moved to Benin Republic on Friday, January 10, 2025 to deliver their own to the country’s Pro Wrestling Federation (FEBECATCH).

Speaking on both occasions, Olukoya expressed hope that the gesture will spur their wrestlers to take the game serious, noting that it’s just the beginning of better things to come for the Federations.

” The sachet rice we presented to the two Federations was made possible by world wrestling champion, American Jim McDowell who is also the founder of Golden Wrestling Federacy based in Florida United States
“He donated the rice in appreciation of the fighters that took part in the End-of- year championship which will also serve as encouragement to the wrestlers because his plan is to make sure that the sport gains root in all countries in Africa.
” You’re quite aware that the first edition was carried out on December, 24, 2023 but because I traveled to Europe towards the end of last year, I couldn’t do the presentation which necessitated my carrying out last week”, he stated.
