YBL Season 2: Abdulwahab’s display excite fans

The Most Valuable Boxer of season One of the Yucateco boxing league Abdulramon Abdulwahab was the center of attraction in week three of the current campaign. The third week of the second season of first ever boxing league in Nigeria was staged in Ijeshatedo on Friday August 23rd.

The event was more of home coming for Abdulwahab who grew up in the Ijeshatedo community of Lagos. The bullish fighter did not disappoint his home fans who turned out in their numbers to cheer him to victory as he made a light work of Adegbayo Qudus of OGBAS boxing club in their 63.5kg bout.
With an excellent display of grit and techniques Wahab recorded a 5-0 victory over his opponent in front an highly entertained crowd.

With Friday’s triumph Abdulramon has now won his first two bouts in season two recordings a 5-0 win in both accounter. The stylish pugilists also known as ‘Omo London’ said his goal is to further dominate other opponents in his subsequent bouts.

” I am happy to have started well, my confidence keeps growing by the day and it will be very difficult for anyone to defeat me in my weight category, I hope to approach each bout differently but the aim is to retain the Most Valuable Boxer title i won last season”

On the standard of new season of the Yucateco boxing league, Wahab said the league has been greatly upgraded from what was obtainable in the maiden season.

” a lot has changed in terms of the technicalities and organizations and I must commend the initiator of the league Mr. Omonlei Yakubu Imadu for creating this platform to develop amateur boxers in the country”

A total of twenty-four bouts were completed in week 3 of the Yucateco boxing league. Week 4 round of bouts is slated for Friday August 30th.

Twelve boxing clubs are competing for the grand prize of N50 Million in Season 2 of the Yucateco boxing league.
