It’s now a matter of minutes before hostilities gets on the way in the highly anticipated Yucateco Emirate Pan-African Title showdown in Ilorin Kwara state.
A team of 65 pugilists, coaches and officials under the auspices of Yucateco Boxing Promotions arrived in Ilorin yesterday ahead of the event holding tonight.
The Emirate Pan-African Title Brawl will see boxers from Togo, and Benin Republic take to the squared ropes against their Nigerian counterparts in several weight categories at the Emir’s Palace in Ilorin Kwara.
The initiator of the event and CEO Yucateco Boxing Promotions Omonlei Yakubu Imadu, told reporters in Ilorin that the boxers from Togo and Benin also arrived Kwara yesterday from their respective bases and the stage is set for tonight hostilities.
” We have a total of twenty pugilists who came in from Togo and Benin for the Pan-African title fight, every preparation has been completed and I make bold to say that Nigerians and the entire continent should anticipate another Yucateco masterclass at the Emir’s Palace tonight”
” We staged the last Pan-African title contest in Uzebba Luleha in Owan West Local Government Area of Edo in August were Nigeria’s Abdulwahab Abdulrahman and Precious Anine defeated Egypt’s Hagar Elsayed and Mostafa Hafez in the male and female category, this time we felt the people of Kwara should as well have feel of the international contest”
The Yucateco Emirate Pan-African Title Fight is primed to headline the week-11 bouts of the Yucateco boxing league Season 2.
