As part of it’s efforts to introduce professional wrestling in all the West African countries, Pro- Wrestling Africa ( PWA) in conjunction with
Golden Wrestling Federacy ( GWF) with headquarters in Florida, United States of America is planning a training programme in Togo as a way of popularizing the mats man game in the West African sub- region.
According to the Secretary General of the PWA who also doubles as the Chief Operating Officer of Golden Wrestling Federacy, Olusesan Olukoya, the training programme which will hold Monday February, 29- Saturday 24th, 2024 will be handled by two American experts in the grunt and groan game namely; Damien Wayne Kostyal and Jim McDowell who will be taking participants on all aspects of the game which will take place at the Ministry of Sports, Lome, Togo.
He also explained that Ghana, Liberia, Benin Rep, Sierra Leone and Gambia have all agreed to participate in the training programme while Togo has accepted to host the other West African nations.
” We’re organising this training because we discovered that many West African countries such as Benin Republic, Togo, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, Gambia and many others don’t have professional wrestling federations and promotions till date. The training will lead to formation of many Pro- Wrestling Federations in West Africa and the continent in general”, he concluded.
Meanwhile, the Federation’s scribe, Olusesan Olukoya would be representing GWF and PWA at the Wednesday, August, 23 meeting in Togo which will prepare grounds for the 2024 West African training of professional wrestling athletes.
