2026 International Women’s Day: Pro -Wrestling Africa Admonishes Women, Urges Female Wrestlers Not To Relent

Pro- Wrestling Africa (PWA) has congratulated women across the continent as the world celebrates International Women’s Day 2026, urging female wrestlers and women in sports not to relent in their pursuit of excellence, leadership, and empowerment within the wrestling industry.
PWA encouraged African women who are actively involved in professional wrestling to remain focused and determined despite the challenges that often confront them in sports industry.
According to the statement by Amb. Olusesan Olukoya the Secretary General, “Women have consistently demonstrated strength, creativity, and resilience both inside and outside the wrestling ring. Their contributions are helping to reshape the future of professional wrestling in Africa.”
Pro- Wrestling Africa further emphasized that the development of women wrestling remains a key priority, stressing that the organization will continue to support initiatives that promote equal opportunities, training, mentorship, and international exposure for female wrestlers.
The body also urged young girls across Africa with interest in professional wrestling to pursue their dreams boldly, noting that the sport offers opportunities for empowerment, discipline, and international recognition.
In a statement released to commemorate the occasion, PWA acknowledged the courage, resilience, and determination of women who have continued to break barriers in professional wrestling and sports development across Africa.
The organization noted that the contributions of women wrestlers, trainers, referees, promoters, and administrators have become increasingly vital to the growth of professional wrestling on the continent.
“As we celebrate International Women’s Day, PWA calls on women wrestlers across Africa not to relent in their efforts. Continue to train hard, believe in your abilities, and take your rightful place in shaping the future of professional wrestling in Africa,” the statement added.
Pro Wrestling Africa reaffirmed its commitment to promoting gender inclusion and strengthening the presence of women in professional wrestling through development programs, championships, and partnerships across the continent.
