2027: APC chieftain, Kaduru promises to prioritize healthcare, if elected

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, a senatorial aspirant for the Imo East(Owerri) senatorial zone in the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr Chijioke Kaduru has reiterated his avowed commitment to vigorously prioritze quality healthcare among the numerous people-oriented in kitty.

Kaduru also identified community development, youth empowerment and support for the indigent in his constituency, as key areas of interest, when elected.

Addressing journalists during a reception organized in honour after an oversea trip, Dr. Kaduru explained that his vision is fuelled by the realization that sound health remains a sine qua non for the attainment of other social and political goals of the human society.

According to him, the deliberate decision to prioritize development of the healthcare sector, especially the Primary HealthCare system, stems not only for his being a Medical Doctor but the realization that the people need to sound health to able to pursue individual and communal socioeconomic development.

He added that his other inspiration came from Governor Hope Uzodimma’s vision and commitment to improved healthcare services of global standards,  with a promise to continue supporting the governor’s efforts in that direction. 

Kaduru extolled the state government’s health programmes and policies, especially the health insurance scheme and transformation of primary healthcare, pointing out that they are necessary steps to create and achieve a healthy society.

His words, “Already, as part of my resolve to contribute my modest quota to the transformation taking place in the sector, courtesy of the governor, I have completed a world-class primary healthcare centre in Obiangwu Autonomous Community, my hometown and it will be handed over to the government in no distant time.

“We also have plans to extend that impactful intervention policy to other communities in Ngor Okpala and the entire Owerri Zone,  to support government’s efforts to make quality, sustainable and affordable healthcare possible and accessible to the people. 

“I am here to contribute to the development and betterment of not just healthcare services and Owerri Zone, but our state at large,” Dr. Kaduru declared. There is no turning back, as I have come to support Gov Uzodimma in uplifting the standard of living of our people, in all ramifications.”

While thanking the crowd of supporters who shelved Sunday Church service and other personal engagements to receive him at the Imo Airport, Kaduru urged youths to shun vices, promote peaceful coexistence and avoid actions that undermine public peace, safety and progres.
