The Niger Delta Development Commission,NDDC, has commenced the installation of 150 poles of solar powered street lights along Umuorisha/Umuoro-Umuohiagu/Nnorie Road, courtesy of Rt. Hon. Obinna Egu, Ph.D.

The street-light project is a well thought out idea of the Ngor Okpala state constituency representative to leverage on development agencies/commissions to provide basic social amenities and infrastructure for greater good of Ngor Okpala.

While receiving the delegation, led by Jennifer, the CRD Head of NDDC, Owerri office who embarked on a measurement & assessment tour on the project site, Rt. Hon. Egu appreciated them for the timely approval of the project and assured of an enabling environment to execute the project.

Addressing few youth and community leaders of Umuohiagu who had come to welcome the NDDC personnel, the Lawmaker sought for the community’s cooperation.

He urged them not to be hostile to the contractor and cautioned them to desist from interfering in their affairs as work advances.
He assured the people that arrangements and negotiations are in top gear to rehabilitate the failed sections of the road and many other dilapidated roads across communities in the constituency.

With these lights put in place, constituents and road users on that axis can now make night movement with ease.
