Owerri gets new Catholic Arch Bishop

A new Archbishop has been appointed for the Owerri Catholic Archdiocese replacing Most Rev AJV Obinna who has retired.

He is Bishop Lucius Ugorji, who before now is the Bishop of Umuahia.

Ugorji has also been overseeing the affairs of the Mbaise Ahiara Diocese.

Pope Francis has endorsed the new posting.

The Papal Nuncio to Nigeria broke the news at the ongoing FIRST 2022 CATHOLIC BISHOPS CONFERENCE OF NIGERIA ( CBCN) PLENARY at the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, Abuja.
