Finalists emerge in Alhaji Adewale Isa national junior open tennis championship

Finalists have emerged in the on- going 3rd edition of Alhaji Isa Memorial junior open tennis championship currently going on at the tennis court of national stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
According to the fixtures released by the organizers after a successful semi-final matches decided Friday at the same venue, Lorelay Hozendoff will play Temilola Samuel in the girl’s U-12 category while the boy’s final will be between Oluwaseun Ogunsekin and Amasiani Chukwubuikem
Also the finals of the boy’s U-14 category will be between Onyekachi Oguejiofor and Bello Yauzar while the girl’s version will see Kadiya Mohammed squaring up against Mary Iorlumun.
The star match of the day will be in the U-16 category where Bright Emmanuel will play Eunice Iorlumun in the girl’s category while Oluwaseun Oluwasakin will face Ganiyu Nubari in the boy’s final.
Meanwhile, national junior tennis coach Ubali Mohammed has expressed happiness at the large turnout of junior players at the tournament even as he stated that more of similar championships is necessary to move the racket game forward in the country.
He was particularly happy with the children of Alhaji Adewale Isa who have been consistent in organizing the tournament to immortalise their father.
“I’m greatly excited with the large turnout of junior players and the enthusiasm they showed in the week long competition and I want to say that we need similar tournaments on regular basis to develop the game at the grassroots.
“It’s equally important I appreciate the children of late Alhaji Adewale Isa who have been consistent in holding the tournament in remembrance of what their late father did to develop the game”, he concluded.
