Taraba 2022: Nezianya seeks election as NOC PRO at the congress

By Peter Ejiofor

Veteran journalist and sports administrator, Tony Nezianya, has appealed for support from delegates to become the Public Relations Officer (PRO) at the election congress of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) which will hold on December 15, this year.

The NOC congress is billed to take place in Jalingo, Taraba State, and Nezianya has been shortlisted with two others for the position.

“I am your partner that you can trust to deliver the goods. With more than 34 years of public service experience at the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), most of which I spent in service of humanity through sports, I am sure I am a trustworthy friend for guidance and advice.

“I have served meritoriously in many sports codes as an executive board member – the first was in the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN); the Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF) and currently the Nigerian Triathlon Union.

“In all three, there is no gainsaying that I operated at the distinguished board levels where I contributed strategically to promote my federation at all times,’’ Nezianya said.

He said his contributions had remained talking points at that level without the younger elements. Indeed I have at all times ensured I won over the admiration of the younger ones by identifying with their aspiration of aiming to attain and surpass his height.

“To date, I am a sports journalist with as many as five Olympic Games behind me. A world-class journalist; Kunle Solaja is the only one to date that has beaten my record in covering most World Cup, where he conveniently covered nine record times with the latest World Cup tournament in Qatar.

“I not only studied Journalism but Advanced Sports Management at the famous National Institute for sports (NiSports), Lagos,’’ he said.

He prayed for the delegates to have a safe journey to Jalingo, a happy stay during the congress and also a safe journey back to their respective destinations.

“Vote me in to get the best of me!!’’
