Oba ODUTALA Presents Trophy, Picks Date For Inter L/G Soccer Tourney

The sports loving monarch, HRH Alaiyeluwa (Oba) Adewunmi Adeniji Odutala the Onibudo of Aiyetoro-Budo, via Ota, Ado-Odo Ota Local Government, Ogun State Nigeria has donated trophies to the A Square Sports International to commence an inter-local government soccer competition in boys and girls categories.
The monarch while presenting the trophies in his palace on Wednesday to the Chairman of the sports body, (ASPPIN) Akin Akinpelu said the proposed soccer tournament tagged: Oba Odutala Under-16 Boys and Under-19 Girls Unity Soccer Cup should kick-off by 1st and will end in the last weekend in April 2023.
The rationale behind the tournament to the royal father is to positively engage the youths in his neighborhood and scout for talents among them using the round leather game to support their career with educational scholarship to the outstanding ones.
The proposed soccer tourney according to the organizing secretary of the body that will organize the competition, Olakunle Emmanuel kehinde will be played during weekends among the grassroots clubs within the Ado-Odo Ota Local Government, Ogun State to enable secondary schools’ pupils among the under-16 players opportunity.
“Kabiyesi Oba Odutala is reputed to always support any youths’ oriented program within his locality and has also promised to offer educational scholarships to the talented players scouted from this tournament, and he has also instructed that we should pick players from this tournament to form a grassroots team that will bears his name and be representing the Ado-Odo Ota Local Government in national competitions in the future”, said Olakunle.
