NLC declares war with Air Peace boss over alleged support for Uzodimma

By George Aluo

The chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema has incurred the wrath of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) over his alleged support for Gov Hope Uzodimma in the labour crisis rocking Imo State.

NLC in a release tagged “Call Allen Onyema of Air Peace to order” alleged that the aviation guru has decided to support the Imo state Governor a posture which organized labour said is unacceptable.

They faulted Onyema’s claim that he lost over N700m in two hours after flights to Owerri were disrupted early this week.

NLC vowed that they would beam their satellite on Air Peace for allegedly taking anti workers stand.

The NLC statement signed by Benson Upah, Head of Information and Public Affairs read in part…”In the light of this, Mr Onyema is given two weeks to allow the staff of Air Peace to unionise…if he fails to do this, he should be prepared to keep a date with the entire labour movement soon.”
