Pre- Olympic qualifying tournament: Anosike, Alatese, Omenaka optimistic of victory over Senegal

D’ Tigers trio of Carl State Fullerton Titans forward, Ejimofor Anosike, BC Kormend of Hungary centre, Omenaka Godwin Ekene and Bolaji Alatese are optimistic that the team will overcome Senegal Monday, August ,14, 2023 when they enter the courts for the opening match of the France 2024 Olympic qualifiers which dunks off by 5pm at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos
In a chat with journalists ahead of the championship, they declared that in as much as they respect all the teams taking part in the tournament but won’t allow complacency or any type of distraction prevent them from posting a good performance in their first game against fellow West Africans, Senegal reputed as one of the basketball power houses in the continent.
” We’re quite aware that it’s a thing of joy and pride playing for one’s country and we’ll put in our best to ensure Nigeria picks the sole ticket from the qualifiers.
“We equally want to represent our country with pride and are very happy with ourselves and will definitely do the country proud. In as much as we respect all the teams, we’ll not give anything to chance in this qualifiers as we believe we’ve what it takes to emerge victorious at the end of hostilities.
” Right now, our training since arriving the country could be described as perfect. Although most of the players in camp are new but the energy and chemistry is there and will help us when we confront not only Senegal but other opponents in Group A.
The players in one voice explained that they’re here for business and will approach all the games with seriousness so as to make the home fans happy.
