Customs Western Marine Command Area Controller Bestowed With Pro- Wrestling Africa Award of Excellence
In recognition of his doggedness in fighting smuggling in his area of command as well as his support to sports development, the Customs Western Marine Command Area Controller, Comptroller, Patrick Nduka Ntadi has been awarded International Royal Award For Pro- Wrestling Excellence.
The award was bestowed on him Wednesday, May, 2026 by Pro- Wrestling Africa, the body charged with the promotion of professional wrestling in the continent at an impressive ceremony in the Commands Headquarters Lagos.
Speaking at the event, which had in attendance, top officers of the Command , National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and National Agency For Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) officials, Secretary General of Pro- Wrestling Africa, Olusesan Olukoya said that the decision to honour him was based on his contributions to combating smuggling on water ways under his command and his numerous contributions towards grassroots sports development which is geared towards keeping the youths busy and away from crimes and other social vices.
“The award we’re presenting to you today is in recognition of your contributions to fighting smuggling as well as your efforts at sports development which has helped in keeping the youths busy and off crime
According to him, the body want to use wrestling as a strong campaign to educate the public and discourage illegal border activities such as smuggling, trafficking and cross- border crimes.
“This award is coming at a time we want to use professional wrestling to educate the youths on the dangers of smuggling and illegal trafficking, promote lawful trade and responsible citizenship, encourage discipline, hard work and positive engagement through sports, partner with border security agencies, Customs authorities and community leaders as well as use wrestling events, seminars and media campaigns to spread awareness across African nations”, he said.
Olukoya used the opportunity to canvass for collaboration between Pro- Wrestling Africa, Western Marine Command, Tincan and Apapa Customs Commands to organize International championships to spread the gospel of combating smuggling.
In his acceptance speech, Comptroller Ntadi, expressed happiness for the award; saying that it will spur him to do more for humanity and his work.
“I want to thank Pro- Wrestling Africa for this award which came to me as a surprise because I never expected it, but it will spur me to do more in my job and increase my support for sports development.
Comptroller Ntadi commended Pro- Wrestling Africa for their efforts at developing the mats man game in the country just as he called for more support for the game so that Nigerian wrestler can perform at World Wrestling Entertainment ( WWE) and similar world wrestling bodies.
” There’s need for Pro- Wrestling Africa to be given the necessary encouragement so that they can through the sports fight crime, smuggling, youth restiveness and other social vices among our youths and with this, the country’s wrestlers can even compete at the WWE and other similar world wrestling bodies.
Comptrolly Ntadi plegded his continuous support for Pro- Wrestling Africa, urging the body not to relent in it’s efforts at using the sports to keep the youths busy.
The event was also attended by members of the organizing committee of the Pro- Wrestling championship held on May 3 this year in Lagos, including two Nigerians who won titles at the championship; notably, AIWF International Heavyweight Champion, Jimmy Palm, the African Dream and AIWF Africa Heavyweight Champion and title holder, Mighty Man
