Mighty Man, the AIWF African Heavyweight champion, setting his eyes on the global stage

Nigeria’s rave of the moment wrestler, Mighty Man has continued to establish himself as one of Africa’s notable professional wrestling heavyweights after emerging as the AIWF Africa Heavyweight Champion title holder in Lagos, Nigeria on the 3rd of May, 2026.

The Nigerian wrestling star captured the prestigious continental championship after defeating Cameroon’s Al Bateos during the Pro Wrestling Africa Championship held at the National Institute for Sports Gymnasium Hall in Surulere, Lagos.

Known for his strength, experience, and resilience inside the ring, Mighty Man, whose real name is Happy Egu Okolo, has enjoyed a long career in African professional wrestling since beginning his journey in 1998. He was trained by legendary wrestling figure Elephando Bassey and has competed against several top wrestlers across Africa.

Speaking after winning the AIWF Africa Heavyweight title, Mighty Man described the championship as a major step toward achieving his ambition of becoming a world wrestling champion.

He also praised Pro Wrestling Africa for its efforts in promoting wrestling across the continent.
Apart from the AIWF African title, Mighty Man has also held the Nigerian National Heavyweight Championship and has featured in several major African wrestling events, including championship bouts in Nigeria and Cameroon.
