ISCO Development Foundation identifies with schools in Ajegunle

..Distributes materials to students

As part of it’s efforts at giving back to the community as well as helping the less privileged children of the society have quality education, a non governmental organization, ISCO Development Foundation in conjunction with Sparkleen Cleaning Services, Monday, October 9 visited some schools in Ajegunle, Ajeromi/ Ifelodun Local Government Area of Lagos State where they distributed some school items to the students.
The schools that benefited from the gift items tagged “Back to School and Hygiene Programme” which ranged from school bags, exercise books, water bottles and sanitary pads are; Ajegunle Primary School, Awodi- Ora, Awodi- Ora Junior Secondary School and NUD Primary School 1& 11, Aiyetoro, Ajegunle.
Apart from distributing items to the students, members of the foundation also used the opportunity to talk to them on the importance of good hygiene which they said is necessary for healthy living.
Speaking at the occasion, Director of the Foundation, Lukman Olakintan Okulaja explained that the CEO of the Foundation, Michael Babatunde is passionate about helping the less privileged in the society and the education of children which necessitated him to set up the foundation, noting that ISCO Development Foundation will continue to give back to the society through their numerous philanthropist programmes.
He also posited that the foundation being mindful of the fact that Ajegunle has produced many sports men and women, is sponsoring many tournaments in the Local Government aimed at encouraging talented youths to excel in sports.
You’re aware that as part of giving back to the society, ISCO Development Foundation on May, 1 organised a Mega Palliatives Outreach for one thousand widows in Ajegunle. We also organised a football tournament with 1 million naira as the prize money which is the highest prize money in grassroots football tournament in the Local Government.
” As a foundation with the interest of girl child development at heart there was also an ISCO Female Soccer fiesta with N 900,000 as prize money ; in that tournament, the winner went home with N 500,000 while the first and second runners-up got N 300,000 and N1,000 respectively”, he explained.
In their separate remarks at the event, the Executive Secretary Local Government Education Authority of the Council, Hon. Barrister Remi-Williams Abiola and the HOS, Social Mobilization Section, Ajeromi/ Ifelodun Local Government Area, Mr. Oduntan S.O commended the organisation for their gift items just as they called on similar NGO’s to emulate them and impact positively on the development of children’s education.
“We’re grateful to ISCO Development Foundation for their kind gesture in identifying with our students. What they did today is worthy of emulation by similar organisations and we look forward to more partnership with the Foundation.
” In Ajeromi/ Ifelodun Local Government Area, we have 71 schools and the government is trying it’s best to ensure that these schools have conducive atmosphere for learning but we still need support of non governmental organizations like ISCO Development Foundation to move education forward in the Local Government”, they stressed
Also speaking Head Mistress of Ajegunle Primary School Awodi-Ora, Mrs. Josephine Nkem Ifezue and her counterpart from NOU Primary School 1, Aiyetoro Ajegunle, Mrs. D.N. Obi expressed joy with the gifts which they said will go a long way in enhancing the education of their pupils.
They commended the Foundation for their kind gesture noting that the staff and students of their schools will ever be grateful to them
