

The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has announced the commencement of the 2026 National Premier Volleyball League (First Phase), scheduled to hold from 13th to 28th June 2026 at the Indoor Sports Hall, Package B, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
The championship, titled in honour of the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, will feature the country’s top male and female volleyball clubs competing for supremacy in Nigeria’s highest volleyball division.
The National Premier League remains the flagship domestic volleyball competition in Nigeria and serves as a platform for talent discovery, athlete development, and the promotion of volleyball excellence across the nation. The league is expected to attract elite players, coaches, technical officials, administrators, and volleyball enthusiasts from different parts of the country.
Speaking ahead of the competition, the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engr. Nimrod Musa, reaffirmed the commitment of the board to strengthening the domestic league structure, enhancing competitive standards, and creating opportunities for athletes to progress to continental and international levels.
The First Phase of the league follows the successful conclusion of the Division One and Division Two League competitions, as well as the ongoing efforts of the Federation to expand volleyball participation and development nationwide.
The NVBF invites government agencies, corporate organizations, stakeholders, media practitioners, sports enthusiasts, and the general public to be part of this exciting celebration of volleyball excellence.
