47th CBN Senior Tennis Championship, Women’s top seed set for quarter-finals

As hostilities continued at the on- going 47th Central Bank of Nigeria Senior Tennis Championship, women’s top seed, Mohammed Khadijat proved that her top seed rating is not a flute by beating her opponent and wide card entrant, Agunbiade Toluwalose 6-1, 6-0 to cement her quarter-final qualification.

Mohammed will now face Godwin Favour in the quarter-finals.
Also through to the final 8 is Udofia Mary who had a 2-0 ( 6-1, 6-2 ) win over Otu Blessing while Ogunjobi Success defeated Samuel Gloria 6-0, 6-3 in their 2nd round clash to come face-to-face with high flying Udofia Mary in the quarter-final.
Omotayo Blessing who beat Bamidele Abosede 6-2, 6-2 in their 2nd round game will be up against seed 2, Emmanuel-Essien Bright to decide who moves into the Semi-finals.
Bassey Etoro will engage Suwa Nenrot
Suwa ran home with a 2-0 victory over Olaniyan Abosede whom she defeated 6-1, 6-0.
Playing in the men’s singles category, seed 1, Abua Canice who defeated Sani Musa,6-4,6-3 will engage Mohammed Dahiru.
Mohammed beat Chinedu Sunday, 6-1, 6-2 while Michael Chima that defeated Sani Yahaya 6-2, 6-2 will tackle Edward David who came into the main draw through a wide card.
Men’s singles seed 2 who dismissed the hot challenges of Ogunjiofor Onyekachi by beating him 6-1, 6-1,
is still sweating it out with another wide card entrant, Muhammed Amir, at the time of writing this report
