13 Days to Glasgow 2026 : National Sports Commission Partners What Network to Deliver Free-to-Air Coverage of Commonwealth Games
As countdown continues to the 2026 Commonwealth Games, the National Sports Commission (NSC) has partnered with Free to Air Broadcast Company, What Network, to ensure Nigerians enjoy comprehensive free-to-air coverage of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, bringing Team Nigeria’s campaign to millions of homes across the country.
Through the partnership, The What Network secured the Free-to-Air broadcast rights for Nigeria, with live coverage to air on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), TV Continental (TVC) and other interested terrestrial TV stations.
The Games will also be available via online streaming, ensuring Nigerians can follow every moment of the action across multiple platforms at no cost.
The Director General of the National Sports Commission, Hon. Bukola Olopade, described the partnership as a major step in connecting Nigerians with their national teams.

Coverage will begin with the Opening Ceremony on July 23rd and continue throughout the Games, with all events available free to Nigerians.
In addition to live broadcasts, viewers will enjoy a daily two-hour highlights programme featuring the biggest moments, medal-winning performances, athlete interviews and exclusive behind-the-scenes content from Glasgow.
The initiative underscores the Commission’s commitment to making major international sporting events accessible to all Nigerians while strengthening support for ‘Team Nigeria’ as the nation’s athletes compete on one of the world’s biggest multi-sport stages.
Nigeria is expected to be represented by some of its leading athletes, including world record holder Tobi Amusan, sprint star Kayinsola Ajayi, shot put standout Chukwuebuka Enekwechi, para- weightlifting star, Folashade Oluwafemiayo and several other elite athletes competing across athletics, boxing, cycling, swimming, weightlifting and para sports.
