AIWF Endorses proposed NAGAFF World Pro Wrestling Championship
Allied Independent Wrestling Federations (AIWF), the world professional wrestling body based in the United States that sanctions professional wrestling championships has endorsed the proposed National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), world wrestling fight scheduled for Lagos in November this year.
In the letter of endorsement signed by it’s Executive Director, Matt Classic Creed and sent to the National President of the association, High Chief Tochukwu Ezisi, through the Secretary General of Pro- Wrestling Africa (PWA), Olusesan Olukoya, AIWF said it recognizes Pro Wrestling Africa as one of the leading organizations committed to the development and promotion of professional wrestling across the African continent.
And that through its consistent efforts in organizing championships, developing athletes, and building international partnerships, PWA has demonstrated its capacity to stage professional wrestling events of international significance.
AIWF further noted the proposed NAGAFF World Pro Wrestling Championship represents an important opportunity to bring together outstanding professional wrestlers from Nigeria, Africa, and other parts of the world in a world-class sporting event that will promote athletic excellence, cultural exchange, tourism, and international goodwill.
“We believe this championship will showcase Nigeria as a destination for major international professional wrestling events, provide African wrestlers with the opportunity to compete against international opponents under recognized professional wrestling standards, encourage youth participation in sports and inspire the next generation of professional wrestlers, promote international friendship and cooperation through sport as well as strengthen the global profile of both Pro Wrestling Africa and the Allied Independent Wrestling Federations.
It commended the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) for its interest in supporting sports development and youth empowerment through the proposed championship, noting that such collaboration between the private sector and sports organizations demonstrates a strong commitment to national development and social impact.
AIWF also expressed confidence that Pro Wrestling Africa possesses the technical expertise and organizational capacity to successfully host the championship in accordance with internationally accepted professional wrestling standards; saying it look forward working closely with PWA to ensure the event’s success and to explore opportunities for future collaboration in Africa.
The world body appealed to government agencies, corporate organizations, sports institutions, the media, and wrestling stakeholders to support the landmark event, even as it wished the organizers success and look forward to witnessing an outstanding championship in Lagos.
