NSC Leadership Intentional, Collaborative, Says Delta Athletics Chairman Malik Ikpokpo

Chairman of the Delta State Athletics Association, Malik Itiako Ikpokpo, has praised the leadership of the National Sports Commission (NSC), describing the current administration led by Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko and Director General Hon. Bukola Olopade as intentional, proactive, and highly collaborative.
Speaking with FAKS MEDIA, Ikpokpo said the major difference between the present NSC leadership and previous administrations is their hands-on approach to sports development.
“They are not waiting for the federations to operate on their own without collaboration or supervision.
Both Mallam Shehu Dikko and Hon. Bukola Olopade have been deeply involved in the activities of the federations, and their wealth of experience is counting positively for Nigerian sports,” he said.
Reacting to Team Nigeria’s medal prospects at the forthcoming Commonwealth Games, the Chief Executive Officer of Dunamis-Icon urged Nigerians to be patient with the athletes, noting that many of them are still young and developing.
“They will do their best. We should not put too much pressure on them.
Most of these athletes are young and are still building towards their peak. My expectations are focused on the future, while also hoping for a few pleasant surprises.”
He expressed confidence that the motivation and support being provided by the National Sports Commission would inspire the athletes to deliver medals for Nigeria at the Games.
