2027: Sweet Apple assures result-oriented legislative representation in Mbaike

Ahead of the official commencement of campaigns for the 2027 general elections, House of Representatives candidate of the Action People’s Party, APP, for Mbaitoli/Ikeduru (MBAIKE) Federal Constituency, High Chief Dennis Ejikeme Okwu popularly known as ‘Sweet Apple’ has declared his resolve to offer his constituency result-oriented and impactful representation, if elected.

He also remarked that his aspiration is driven by a passionate commitment to set a new benchmark in the impactful legislative representation and leadership of MBAIKE constituency.

Chief Okwu made the heart warming assertion Saturday during a town-hall meeting with members, leaders and supporters of the party in Umueze Amaimo Community at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Hall, in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State.

The business mogul who noted that it’s time for Mbaike to be represented by mature minds and credible personality remarked that the federal constituency is too big to be left for all manner of people considering the array of eminent personalities from the area.

He decried the lacklustre performance of the recent representatives of the area at all levels but promised to change the current ugly narratives for the better with visible milestones in infrastructural and human capital and capacity development projects.

Expressing excitement over the large turnout, even on a short notice, the APP chieftain applauded people of Amaimo Community for firmly maligning with him in the struggle to rescue the constituency from uninspiring representation at all levels of government.

He said, “Let’s join hands to write the current negative narrative of political leadership and representation in Mbaike stressing that he is not aspiring to be in the National Assembly, NASS, for self enrichment but to restore the dignity and respected voice of MBAIKE at the Green Chambers and national politics.

“I am your son and has been into shipping and freight business for over three decades. I am not here for fun nor do I want to make bogus promises as is common with regular politicians during elections.

“I’m here to assure you that when elected as your representative in Abuja, with the love you people have shown me today, I will never forget Amaimo Community.

“With the likes of our woman leader, Esther, the ward chairman Jonathan, SACO Women Leader, Hon. Mrs. Destiny Oham, Professor Nwokoro and several others here for me today, I will not dare to ignore you people. They all have my phone number and can reach me anytime.

“Your support for me is for someone you can reach, who is accessible, light and large hearted to attend to your personal and collective needs.

“Whatever I will do as your representative will be for the good of all, no discrimination. I count on your support and mandate for my 2027 outing. God bless us all.”

Okwu commended the APP chairman of Amaimo Ward, Hon. Jonathan Adindu Ohiri who doubles as the head of all APP Ward chairmen in Ikeduru L,ocal Government Area for his pragmatic leadership style as well as other leaders in the ward for unflinching dedication to making APP the reigning party in Amaimo despite challenges.

He commended Dr. Chima Matthew Amadi, senatorial candidate for Imo East (Owerri) Zone for his leadership role in securing the ticket and prayed the people to support him and all candidates of the APP during the coming polls.

Speaking earlier, President-General of Umueze Amaimo Community, Professor Joachim Nwokoro, stressed the need for quality representation come 2027 pointing out that the people of the constituency have suffered untold hardship as a result of lack of basic infrastructure and good governance.

The university don who said he is not a politician however explained that his interest in standing with the APP candidate, Sweet Apple, is simply because, he is not in any way, associated with crime and corruption which many political actors are known for and prayed for his success at the coming polls.

On behalf of the APP in Amaimo, the ward chairman, Hon. Jonathan Adindu Ohiri popularly known as ‘Adidas’ thanked Chief Okwu for the visit and assured him of victory in Amaimo ward and Ikeduru at large with the calibre of leaders of the party in the area.

In his vote of thanks for the warm reception accorded them, Director-General of Sweet Apple Campaign Organization, SACO, Prince Basheer Uwakwe, on behalf of the House of Reps candidate and principal of the group, Chief Okwu, applauded the solidarity of Amaimo Community assuring them of another visitation when campaigns officially commence.

He described Chief Okwu’s candidature as a precious commodity that markets itself and called on Amaimo people and Ndi Ikeduru in general to queue behind him because he shall never disappoint them.

Chief Okwu used the opportunity to pay condolence visit to Ward coordinator of Sweet Apple Campaign Organization in Amaimo ward, Mr. John Okechukwu over the death of his late brother’s wife. at Umuofor Amaimo, home of Prof. Vitalis Orikeze Ajumbe.

He was accompanied on the visit by Hon. Athanasius B.C. Onyeji, APP House of Assembly candidate for Mbaitoli state constituency, Mrs. Destiny Oham, Woman Leader Sweet Apple Campaign Organization, Comrade Isdore Chukwuemeka, state Youth Leader APP, Mr. Solomon Uche-Umunna, chairman of all chairmen Mbaitoli APP, among other numerous notable leaders.
