Ahead of 2027 general elections, Prince Uchechukwu Samuel, an illustrious son of Uru Ogwa in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State and founder of the Samankwe Charity Foundation, has declared his readiness to serve the people of Mbaitoli, pledging to champion their welfare and accelerated infrastructural development if given the opportunity.
Speaking on his political ambition, Samuel who’s the House of Assembly candidate of Labour Party, LP in the forthcoming political dispensation disclosed this on Thursday while addressing news men in his Uru Ogwa palatial ancestral home.
The international business icon turned politician said his decision to join politics was driven by his age long philanthropy, patriotism and an unwavering commitment to improve the living conditions of his people and the society at large.
“I have the patriotic desire to serve my good people of Mbaitoli State Constituency and Imo State at large. My mission and vision is to enhance their welfare and ensure accelerated infrastructural developments.
“I want to make a difference by ensuring that government policies and programmes are tailored towards improving the lives of the people,” he assured.
He also pointed out that the deplorable state of infrastructures in Mbaitoli, particularly rural roads, public schools, health care, electricity and markets, remains a major concern that requires urgent government intervention.
“As a man of the people, I am deeply worried about the conditions of our rural roads. Many schools in Mbaitoli are in deplorable conditions, while our markets lack the facilities needed to stimulate economic activities.
“It is honestly unfortunate that in the 21st century, many of our people still grapple with poverty, unemployment and lack of opportunities for skills acquisition” he lamented.
The revered youthful politician expressed concern over the growing insecurities in the area, describing it as a challenge that must be decisively addressed.
Samuel who’s also a renowned philanthropist maintained that his wealth of experiences, exposure and commitments to public service places him in a strong position to provide effective leadership and qualitative representations of the State Constituency.
“I am convinced that I have the experiences and exposure needed for the job. My passion, is to be the voice of my people and to pursue policies that will bring sustainable development to Mbaitoli, and Imo State at large” he stated.
The astute politician further stressed that, he believes in purposeful governance and qualitative representations, adding that the primary responsibility of any legislator should be the welfare of the people and compassion in leadership.
“I am an advocate of good governance and effective representations. As a legislator, my focus will always be the betterment of the people and the development of her society.”
On Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration, the House of Assembly hopeful described the governor as one of his political role models, praising his leadership style and developmental initiatives despite belonging to different political parties.
“I have admired Governor Hope Uzodimma’s political courage and sagacity since my teenage years. Although, we are not members of the same political party, I appreciate many of his developmental strides, particularly in solid roads construction and rehabilitation, youth digital skills empowerment, visionary leadership and the revolution in primary healthcare delivery system in the State.”
Samuel, however, urged the governor to intensify efforts in the areas of rural roads rehabilitations, construction and maintenance, rural infrastructural developments, modern agriculture, improved security and the welfare of the people.
“I sincerely believe Governor Uzodimma means well for Imo State, her people and Nigerians. I commend his infrastructural revolution and compassionate leadership styles, but I also believe more attention should be given to rural roads, agricultural development, security and improving the welfare of the people, what we politicians described as stomach infrastructure.”
He passionately appealed to the people of Mbaitoli State Constituency for their support, even as he patriotically promised to provide quality, effective and people-oriented representations if elected into the Imo State House of Assembly.
According to the political strategist, “heaven knows, I will not disappoint my people. I have my integrity, reputation and future to protect. Mbaitoli and Imo State will certainly be proud of my performances.
I may not be the loudest person, but I am focused, result-oriented and determined to deliver. Disappointment has never been part of my dictionary, and I am confident that my performance will speak for itself,” he said.
