ECN Global Congratulates Bucknor on Appointment as Gwagwalada Chairman’s Sports Aide
The Management of ECN Global Limited, publishers of ExclusiveNews Newspaper, has congratulated Barrister Babatunde Akintade, popularly known as Bucknor, on his appointment as Special Assistant on Recreational and Sports Development to the Executive Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory, Alhaji Kasim.
The appointment, according to the Patrick Ngwaogu “Odogwu” Executive Director of ECN Global Limited, is a significant step towards strengthening the sports development agenda of the Area Council and providing renewed impetus to grassroots sports development in Gwagwalada.
He said the inclusion of Akintade in the sports development programme of the Area Council would go a long way in revitalising sports and creating more opportunities for young talents in the council.
The appointment was announced in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman, Mr. Mustapha Yakubu.
Akintade, a legal practitioner and seasoned football administrator, is widely recognised for his contributions to grassroots football development, sports administration and youth empowerment.
He currently serves as a Board Member representing the North Central Zone on the Nationwide League One (NLO) and is also the Vice Chairman of the Gwagwalada Football Council, a member of the FCT Football Association and Chairman of Like-Minds Football Club, an NLO side.
Ngwaogu said “Over the years, Bucknor has been actively involved in grassroots football development, football governance and administration, talent identification, player development, youth engagement initiatives, sports programme management and stakeholder relations”.
“His appointment is expected to bring his wealth of experience and expertise to the sports development agenda of Gwagwalada Area Council, particularly in the areas of grassroots talent discovery and youth development”.
“He is also the sponsor of the Bucknor Under-15 Tournament, a grassroots football competition established to provide young football talents with opportunities to develop their skills, gain competitive experience and attract greater exposure”.
The management of ECN Global Limited expressed confidence that Akintade would bring his experience, passion and commitment to bear in his new role, while contributing meaningfully to the development of recreational activities and sports in Gwagwalada.
The organisation also congratulated the new Special Assistant and wished him success in his new assignment, describing the appointment as an opportunity to further impact the lives of young people and advance the course of grassroots sports development in the Area Council.
