L’Animal : Alain Tazo, Cameroon’s World Wrestling Champion, Ready To Conquer The US Wrestling Scene
Cameroon’s L’Animal, Alain Tazo, has emerged as one of the country’s most prominent professional wrestling talents, carrying the hopes and pride of African wrestling onto the international stage.
Tazo, whose full name is Tazo Nguechoung Alain Pierre, has been competing professionally since 1998 and has established himself as a respected heavyweight wrestler in Cameroon and now based in Maryland, USA.
He is known by his ring name “L’Animal” and has represented Cameroon in international professional wrestling competitions.
He competed at the AIWF World championship at North Carolina, USA on the 2nd of March 2024 where he secured a victory.
In July 2023, Tazo achieved a major milestone when he defeated American wrestler Jim McDowell, “The Golden Boy,” at the Palais des Sports in Yaoundé via count out to become world PWA-AIWF professional wrestling heavyweight champion, a significant achievement for the Cameroonian wrestler.
The championship bout was organized by the Cameroon Professional Wrestling Federation (FECACATCH) in collaboration with Pro Wrestling Africa (PWA) the parent body, bringing international wrestling championship to Cameroon and providing an important platform for African talents.
Following his historic victory, L’Animal’s is a Champion who is ready for the next Challenge in his international journey representing another important chapter in the development of professional wrestling in Africa.
A potential appearance or championship opportunity in the United States where he currently resides would give the Cameroonian world champion an opportunity to showcase African wrestling talent before a wider international audience.
Tazo has previously expressed his ambition to compete internationally, and that should even be easier now that he is based in the USA including his desire to test himself against leading wrestlers beyond Africa.
