Hon. Agala Omubo Backs 2026/2027 Football Season Watch-Party in Yenagoa
The member representing Brass Constituency II in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Timi Agala Omubo has thrown his weight behind the 2026/2027 Football Season Watch-Party organised by the Rhythm FM Sports Crew in conjunction with Aridolf, featuring Royal FM Sports.
The event, themed “Bragging Right,” is aimed at bringing football enthusiasts together to celebrate the commencement of the new football season in an atmosphere of fun, entertainment, and healthy rivalry.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by the organisers to his office at the State Assembly Annex, on Friday, Hon. Omubo said the programme has his full support.
According to the lawmaker, “sports remains a unifying factor in society, stressing that every effort aimed at promoting unity through sports should be encouraged and supported.”
Hon. Omubo, a passionate Manchester City fan, expressed confidence that “the club’s new manager, Enzo Maresca, will successfully step into the shoes of Pep Guardiola and lead the team to greater success, despite concerns expressed by some fans and football enthusiasts.”
The lawmaker’s support is expected to further boost the initiative, which seeks to create a platform where football lovers can connect, support their favourite clubs, engage in lively football debates and make predictions ahead of the new season.
With the backing of Hon. Timi Agala Omubo, expectations are high as football enthusiasts in Yenagoa gear up for an exciting and memorable 2026/2027 football season, with the watch-party set to provide a platform for fans to connect, share their passion and enjoy the beautiful game.
Fans attending the Watch-Party will also stand a chance to win free jerseys of their favourite football clubs and national teams through a series of giveaways and interactive activities lined up for the programme.
The event is scheduled to hold on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Aridolf Pool Bar, Yenagoa, with football fans expected to gather to watch the opening fixture between Arsenal and Coventry City.
