LSTTA To Embark on Aggressive Youth Developmental Programme- Olatunji Lawal

The Lagos state Table Tennis Association Boys and Girls Cadet Table Tennis Championship has ended at the Lagos Country Club Ikeja, Lagos with Umar Ayoola and Lawal Aminat emerging victorious.
Umar Ayoola defeated Abdulateef Abdulraham 3-1 ( 7-11, 11-8, 13-11, 11-8 ) to emerge champion in the boys category while Lawal Aminat out-stroked Omoiya Shemilore 3-0 ( 11-8, 11-9, 11-8 ) to win the girls category.
A total of 45 players ( 28 boys, 17 girls ) drawn from across the state, took part in the two day exercise that started at the National Stadium table Tennis knock-up hall on Saturday and ended at the Lagos Country Club on Sunday 23 August, 2026.
Chairman of the Lagos State Table Tennis Association, Mr. Olatunji Lawal, said the Cadet championship was aimed at discovering raw talents and developing table Tennis in Lagos state and Nigeria at Large.
The chairman further informed that the state will soon embark on a monthly tournament aimed at keeping the states’s table Tennis athletes in competition state ahead of feature tournaments.
Mr. Olatunji Lawal, also hinted that the Lagos state Table Tennis players will have session at the Ikoyi Club table Tennis section on Saturday 29 August 2026 towards adequate preparations for the forthcoming maiden National Intermediate Games holding in Lagos and as well be in the best of form for all competitions , be it National or international.
