Success of Age Group Tennis tourney thrills Odele

The annual Age Grade Tennis Tournament sponsored by Chief Gbolahan Odele ended weekend with so much thrills and grills.
While some preliminary games were decided at the Lagos Country Club, the Adejumo Tennis Sports centre hosted the final to the delight of huge crowd and tennis enthusiasts at the venue.
The tournament, the 4th in the series, saw a keen contest from the youngsters as boys and girls of U-12, U-14, and U-16 smashers had a swell time in the keenly contested competition.
Odele was all smiles watching the young ones do their thing with so much skill and determination.
Badejo Sports and Chief Gbolahan Odele Foundation put together the youth developmental competition.
“I am highly thrilled that the event went well. Seeing the youths competing passionately with so much guts was a huge delight.
“The final was very explosive with so many fireworks in the matches and I am so impressed with optimism that the future of tennis is bright in Nigeria.
“We will continue to keep the flag flying and ensure the tournament gets better with every edition. I appreciate the kids and their parents for turning up in their numbers,” Chief Odele said.
In some of the final matches, Ameera Adebayo defeated Chidumto Obiora 5/3-0/4-15/13 in the Girls U-12 category while in the Boys U-12 cadre Salau Abdulmaleek beat Goodluck Onorode
4/2-4/2 just as Mabubat Rasaki defeated Josephine Musa 4/1- 5/4 to win the Girls U-14 cadre.
Friday Testimony won the Boys U14 category after beating Oloyede Abiodun 4/1, 4/1.
In the youth cadre, Amir Mohammed emerged winner in the UTR event for Boys while Toluwalase Agunbiade achieved same feat in the girls youth cadre.
