Sports Meet-tech: Spores secure Partnership With Lagos State Ministry For Tartiary Education
Ahead of the 2026 Spires Media Sports Meet-tech Initiative, the organisers of the annual Spires 5-Aside Naija Street Soccer Tournament have sealed a significant collaboration with the Lagos State Ministry For Tartiary Education.
The partnership was announced on Thursday when the Spires team led by its Chairman Dr. Bankole Allibay paid a working visit to the Commissioner for Tartiary Education Hon. Tolani Sule Akibu, at the ministry’s secretariat in Alausa.
According to Dr. Allibay, the collaboration is aimed at expanding the league of participants in the Tech program by leveraging on the existing government structures on youth development in tech education.
The Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) expert commended (IHS) for its support towards the event. The telecommunications infrastructure giant will provide (50) laptops for selected participants.
” I sincerely wish to appreciate IHS for it support, we are able to expand the scope of the Sports Meet-tech Initiative because of their benevolence, they have again proven their resolve to empower young people in technology”. Bankole added.
On his part, the Commissioner for Tartiary Education Hon.Tolani Sule Akibu praised Spires Media for the initiative as he pledges the ministry’s support towards a successful event.
“We are excited about this collaboration with the Spires team, what Dr. Bankole is doing with the Sports Meet-tech project is truly commendable and as a ministry we would provide every technical support, as well as leverage the existing Eko Digital initiative to expand the scope of participants”. Tolani said.
The second installment of the Spires Sports Meet-tech Initiative will be held in October.
