NFF mourns as Ruth David loses sister

The Nigeria Football Federation has expressed deep sadness at the death of Queen David, the younger sister of its Director of Competitions, Ms. Ruth David.

NFF’s Acting General Secretary, Dr. Emmanuel Ikpeme, expressed the grief of the football-ruling body when announcing the passing of David’s younger sister on Tuesday morning.

“It is a sorrowful situation. Ms. Ruth David returned to the country only on Monday night from Poland, where she had been with the U-20 Women National Team, Falconets, throughout their credible campaign at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, only to be confronted with this piece of sad news.

“The NFF mourns with Ms. David at this period and we pray that God will grant her and the entire family the fortitude to bear the big loss, while also praying that God will grant the deceased eternal rest.”
