Gov Diri Pre Season: Ahudiyannem Queens Chairman Rallies Team Ahead semifinal showdown

Chairman of Ahudiyannem Queens, Dr Robert Onyeani, has charged the team to put behind them the 2-0 loss to Rivers Angels and focus on victory in the semi-final game against Delta Queens.
Dr Onyeani, who spoke to the players after the game via zoom, expressed disappointment that the team failed to replicate its winning mentality in the final Group B game where there was no shot on target in the first 50 minutes of the game. But he remains proud of the girls and confident they will bounce back.
“Put the loss behind you. So far, so good. I am proud of you. Calm down, tomorrow we go out there and fight. We have to bounce back and take back our victory,” he told the players.
The Queens, who had won their first three games, lost momentum after a two-minute penalty loss early in the match and conceded a penalty seven minutes later.
Despite the defeat, Ahudiyannem Queens topped Group B with 9 points from three wins and one loss.
Dr Onyeani urged the players and technical crew to keep their spirits high, regroup and approach the semi-final with confidence and determination.
“Today didn’t go our way, but one loss doesn’t define who we are. We have shown character throughout this tournament and I know you have what it takes to come back stronger,” he said.
He also thanked fans and supporters for standing by the team through thick and thin.
The Queens will face Delta Queens in today’s semi-final by 3.pm with hopes of securing a place in the final.
