Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Women Basketball Club continued their impressive run at the 2026 FIBA Africa Women Basketball League (WBLA) Zone 3 Qualifiers with a commanding 77–46 victory over Liberia’s Flames Female Basketball Club in Monrovia on Thursday night.
The Nigerian champions produced a dominant display at the Samuel Doe Stadium, winning all four quarters to secure a convincing 31-point victory and strengthen their quest for a place at the WBLA final tournament in Cairo, Egypt.
Fondly called the Folashade Olukoya Queens, MFM set the tone early, taking the first quarter 20–11 with an impressive display of offensive organisation and precision.
The three-time Nigerian league champions stepped up their defensive intensity in the second and third quarters, restricting the hosts to just eight and seven points respectively to establish an unassailable advantage.
Although Flames Female showed some improvement in the final quarter, scoring 20 points, MFM maintained their attacking momentum with 25 points to complete the emphatic victory.
Captain Ukamaka Okoh led the Nigerian side with 13 points, two rebounds and one assist, while veteran forward Regina Iornumbe contributed 10 points and a team-high six steals.
Marvis Hembam also impressed with nine points and nine assists, while Dalphne Olugbagho and Yakhira Buzugbe added seven points apiece.
The victory takes MFM’s record to two wins from two matches in the Zone 3 Qualifiers, following their impressive 59–36 triumph over Nigerian rivals First Bank Basketball Club in their opening fixture.
Having also emerged unbeaten in the Nigerian domestic league, the Folashade Olukoya Queens are maintaining their impressive form as they pursue qualification for the FIBA Africa Women’s Basketball League final tournament scheduled to hold in Cairo from December 11 to 20, 2026.
The Folashade Olukoya Queens will be hoping to sustain their winning momentum and secure one of the qualification spots available to Zone 3.
