Ofili out of Olympics 100m as AFN forgot to register her

One of the country’s medal hopefuls in this year’s Olympics, Favour Ofili will not burn the tracks in her favorite 100 meters as the Athletics Federation of Nigeria forgot to register her for the Games.

The sprinter who broke the sad news through her X account formerly known as Twitter expressed regrets that after preparing for the Games, she was told she cannot complete because the AFN did not register her.
” It’s quite unfortunate and disappointing to hear that I won’t be participating in the Paris 2024 Olympics because the Athletics Federation of Nigeria failed to register me for my favorite 100 meters race.

” For the past four years, I’ve been preparing for this Game only to be denied participation by those at the AFN who claimed they forgot to register me for the Games.

” This is quite discouraging considering the efforts I have put in to prepare to represent my country at the biggest sporting event in the World and there’s need for AFN to take full responsibility and explain to Nigerians why this great injustice which I know was deliberate was meted out to me “, she lamented.
