
Team Nigeria Para-Powerlifters that will represent the country at the forthcoming Paris 2024 Paralympic Games are already in Saarbrucken, Germany training for the Games which begins on 26 August, 2024.
Made up of 9 lifters and two coaches, the team which departed on 13 August 2024 through the terminal 1 of the Muritala Mohammed International Airport ( MMIA), Lagos via Air Maroc at 6 am include; Esther Nwogu 41kg, Bejide Bose 50kg, Onyinyechi Gift 61kg, KureThomas 65kkg and Lucy While, 67 kg.
Others are; Kafilat Almaruf 73kg, Bose Omolayo 79kg, Lovelin Obiji 86kg, and Folashade Alice +86kg while Patience Igbiti and Jude Ihuarulam are the two coaches.
President of the Nigeria Powerlifting Federation, Chiemeka Ezenwanne Charles, who revealed this in Lagos, said he is optimistic that the lifters who came in through the qualifiers, will excel at the Paris 2024 Games..
