NIS Students’ Week: Professional dominate badminton as Team 1 show class in Futsal football
The boys are gradually being separated from the men at the ongoing National Institute For Sports (NIS) Students’ Week as all the departments intensify efforts to top the medals table at the end of hostilities in the sporting events.
In an action filled badminton game played on Day 4 of the celebration at the Gymnasium Hall of the citadel of Learning, Advance Team defeated National Diploma 2-1 while Professional recorded a 2-0 victory over National Diploma before recording another 2-0 victory over boastful Advance Team.
With this result, Professional are occupying the first position, closely followed by Advance while the youthful National Diploma class is third.
Also in the futsal football game decided at the same venue, Team 1 defeated hard fighting Team 3 by 2-1.
Meanwhile, President of the Students’ Union, Omefe Michael Kanayo has commended all the students for their spirit of sportsmanship at the games even as he charged them as coaches and managers to continue to maintain discipline as the celebration gradually comes to an end.
The week long activity which enabled the students to put into practice what they’re taught in class will be rounded up on Friday, August, 23, 2024.
