Imo: Umuohiagu women in Lagos present ISTDAL trophy to town union

It was a joyous occasion on Sunday (September 15) for the Umuohiagu community in Lagos as the women of the community presented the trophy won during ISTDAL outing last month to the town’s development union.

Umuohiagu autonomous community which prides itself as IMO Airport town is in Ngor Okpala local government area of Imo State.

Making the presentation to Umuohiagu Development Union (UDU), the leader of the women, Mrs Doris Onuh said they won the trophy courtesy of their splendid performance during the match past event of Imo State Town Development Association (ISTDAL) Women’s August meeting in Lagos.

She noted that they would not have performed well at the ISTDAL outing without the support of their husbands.

“This informs why we are here to present the trophy and say a big thank you for your support,” Mrs Onuh stated.

Receiving the trophy, chairman of UDU, Agu Chris Ekeocha who also leads the Imo town associations in Lagos congratulated the women for doing Umuohiagu proud.

He said he is particularly happy that the trophy was presented on a day he was also celebrating his birthday.

The women thereafter joined in the cutting of Ekeocha’s birthday cake.
