BUSCED conquers South East, Nigeria in educational prowess

As a litmus test to justify her commitment towards moral and academic excellence, Johnson Nwaoha of Benjamin Uwajumogu State College of Education, BUSCED Ihitte Uboma in Imo State has won the maiden Best Performing Student and Second Best Performing Student in all the Colleges of Education in South East and Nigeria respectively.
This has brought pomp and pageantry in the school and outside the school environments, as the prestigious award is sponsored by Colleges of Education Association of Staff Union (COEASU) and powered by National Commission for Colleges of Education, (NCCE) .
The reverred academic award serves as a motivation of encouraging education’s institutional excellence as well as boosting the morale of the students so as to encourage them to study hard as well as propelling them towards reaching their goals in life.
Nwaoha who’s 200 level Computer Education/Biology student of the famous institution and hails from Umuodu kindred in Amankwo, Ebenator in Orsu local government area of Imo State, achieved the historical feats by scoring 46/50 which was the highest for the South East and 42/50 as the second highest best in the national competitive examination for the educational prestigious awards.
It’s pertinent to inform that the best brains from the seven government owned Colleges of Education in the South East geographical zone participated for the competitive examination and Nwaoha’s superlative performance earned him the overall Best, with a score of 46/50.
With the feat, he was automatically selected to represent the South East Zone at the national level, in which the best from each of the remaining five geographical zones contested along with him in Umunze, Anambra State, and as a humble intellectual genius from BUSCED, he again made the institution and the nation proud by scoring 42/50, thus earning him the historical record of being the nation’s maiden, Second Best Performing Student of Colleges of Education in Nigeria, while Latona Mubarak of Federal College of Education, Iwo, Osun State in South West Zone came first in the competitive examination.
Speaking to the media, Nwaoha who dedicated the awards to students, staff and management of BUSCED, his parents and God Almighty, passionately advised Nigerian youths on the need for them to believe in themselves.
According to him, “Nigerian youths are the future leaders, bold, and change-makers. Their dreams are valid, and their potentials are limitless. Don’t let anyone dictate your path; you have the power to shape your destiny”.
Nwaoha further appealed to them on the need for them to embrace hard working and perseverance noting that “success is not a destination; it’s a journey. Challenges will come, but don’t give up. Every obstacle is an opportunity to grow, learn, and become stronger” he insisted.
He also enjoined youths to always, “pursue and strive for excellence in all their endaevours, especially in academics, but also cultivate skills beyond the classroom. Develop their passions, engage in extra curricular activities, and build meaningful relationships.
“Empower one another, because we rise by lifting each other. Support your peers, share knowledge, and celebrate achievement” he pointed out.
Responding, Dr. Mrs. Chinyere Nwachukwu, the Provost of Benjamin Uwajumogu (State) College of Education observed that the institution has consistently upheld its reputation as a hub for nurturing future educators and professionals. This recent accolade further underscores the college’s focus on academic excellence, innovation, and the holistic development of its students.
Nwachukwu, expressed her heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to Nwaoha Johnson, stating, “This is a proud moment for BUSCED. Johnson’s achievement is a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and passion of both our students and faculty. We remain committed to providing the best learning environment and resources to help our students excel both academically and professionally.”
The Provost pointed out that students of the College have brighter future ahead stating that receiving such a prestigious award, is only the beginning for Nwaoha Johnson Obinna.
“With his passion for learning and determination to make a positive impact, there is no doubt that he will continue to achieve great things in his academic and professional journey.
She prayed that as the institution continues to foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and creativity, the college also looks forward to celebrating more outstanding achievements from its students in the future based on the effective, effecient and qualitative moral and education they are receiving.
