Yuletide: Former Imo lawmaker doles out N25m palliative for kinsmen

Ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebrations, the immediate past member of the Imo State House of Assembly for Ngor Okpala state constituency, Hon. Blyden Amajirionwu has announced palliative package to support the livelihood of the less privilged in the area.
Amajirionwu in a statement released Wednesday hinted that packages worth N25million will be distributed to selected beneficiaries to be drawn from all the communities in Ngor Okpala LGA.
According to him, the gesture is to cushion the biting effects of the daily rising cost of commodities for indigent families in order to bring smiles to their faces as well as give them a sense of belonging.
His words, “I most heartedly once more call our attention to this programme, I and my family have decided to put forward this coming yuletide season. It is one targeted at least to bring smiles to few of our brothers and sisters who may need it. Due to daily rising cost of commodities, it is a package of N25,000,000.
He announced that the committee that will handle distribution of the palliative will widely reach out to all the nooks and crannies of the communities to fish out the beneficiaries adding that the committee headed by the Vice Chairman of Ngor Okpala LGA, Hon. Kizito Onuoha will be inaugurated on Sunday, 3rd November, 2024.
“I most respectfully make a special appeal to all of us. This programme is only focused to touch lives. It is in all ramifications, non-political. I want us for this purpose to drop all our revered political linings and work with the committee to achieve the objectives of this programme.
“Kindly nominate our people who qualify in this category. The committee members cannot know it all. By doing this, the Almighty God we serve will increase our own coasts. There will be enough buses to transport the beneficiaries. It has to be a zero cost on them.
“I know some people will not like me or my style. In some cases they are right in their views. But for this programme, I plead we make it work. It might still not change your opinion of me but please for the sake of God, help me let our people benefit. Let the less privileged celebrate Christmas also,” he stated.
