Basketball: Hoops N’ Read arrest Police Baton in Port Harcourt as Rivers Hoopers blow Kwara Falcons apart
Hoops N’ Read basketball club on Match Day 2 of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, (NBBF), Men’s Premier League Final 8 placed Police Baton in the backseat in a cagey but thrilling match.
It was bad day in office for the Lagos State Police slamming and dunking lovers as they gave away scores of lose balls, barely recording any steal with a poor defense to cap it all.

Hoops N’ Read replied strongly in the 3rd quarter turning the tables in their favour, to open a 10 points margin, 32-42 with captain, Tolani Buhari, asking for more.
The final quarter signaled Hoops N’ Read’s ascension to the top of the Group as Tolani Buhari lead his team to victory keeping the pressure on Police Baton to win the tie 62-51.
The victory and the ascension to the top of the Group left Buhari smiling and feeling proud of his teammates, as men who want to make it to the Basketball Africa League, (BAL).
He praised his side, stating that, this is only the beginning of their quest to the promised land ( BAL), with many tests, trials and roadblocks on the way.
One of such test is the game against Gboko City Chiefs, a formidable side whom, Tolani Buhari said his team with come with their antidote.
Gboko City Chiefs, the rulers of the Savanah Conference, stunned 71-75 Friday by Kano Pillars,; a side that pushed them beyond their limits, with series of well tailored passes and dunked with perfection.
Kano Pillars will now face Police Baton on Saturday
The biggest win on MatchDay 2 was recorded by Rivers Hoopers over Kwara Falcons 89-34 while Nile University inflicted the second defeat on Gombe Bulls 56-53.
