Nigeria Cricket Federation unveil squad for the 2025 ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup
The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF), has named its final squad for the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 holding next month in Malaysia.
The NCF named 15 young stars who are set to make Nigeria proud in Malaysia from the 18th of January to the 2nd of February.
Lucky Piety is expected to captain the team fondly called Junior Female YellowGreens.
Nigeria is in Group C with South Africa, New Zealand and Samoa who they meet in the first game of the competition on the 18th of January.
The Junior Female YellowGreens will take on New Zealand two days later before meeting South Africa on the 22nd of January.
After the group stage the top 12 teams will be divided into two groups of six teams each for the knockout stage.
The Nigerian squad are ; Adekunle
Shola, Agboya Peculiar, Akhigbe
Anointed, Amusa Kehinde Bassey Deborah, Bieni Jessica and
Chukwuonye Christabel.
Others are; Eguakun Omosigho, Igbinedion Victory, Lucky Piety – C,
Memeh Naomi, Oguai Beauty, Ude Lilian, Umoh Inyene and Usen Peace.
Sixteen countries are participating in the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 in Malaysia and they have been divided into four groups of four teams each.
The top three teams in each group will progress to the Super Six League stage, where qualifying teams from Group A will play against two of the qualifying teams from Group D, and qualifying teams from Group B will play against two of the qualifying teams from Group C.
Points from matches against teams that also qualified from the first group stage will be carried forward into the Super Six League stage.
The top two sides from each of the Super Six Leagues will progress to the semi-finals, with the final taking place on 2 February 2025.

20th of January – 10:30am
New Zealand v Nigeria
Borneo Cricket Ground, Sarawak.
22nd of January – 10:30am
South Africa v Nigeria
Borneo Cricket Ground, Sarawak.
England were the first side to name their squad, doing so on 3 October 2024. Australia and Ireland announced their squad on 11 December 2024.
