PDP Governors in crucial meeting in Ibadan today

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors are set to meet in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, today to address key issues relating to.the unity and future of the party.
Newstap.com.ng gathered that the emergency meeting, convened under the PDP Governors’ Forum, will address the controversy surrounding the reinstatement of the party’s National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, by the Supreme Court.
It could be recalled that the Supreme Court, in a ruling delivered on March 21, 2025, invalidated previous lower court decisions that briefly installed Sunday Udeh-Okoye in the position.
Although the PDP had earlier aligned with Udeh-Okoye, it has yet to make a formal statement following the apex court’s decision that reinstated Anyanwu, who is widely known as a close ally of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The meeting will further discuss the crisis in Rivers State, most importantly the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, and other political structures.
The PDP Governors are already at the Supreme Court to challenge the suspension of one of its members, Fubara
Other agenda of the meeting is the issue of reconciliation within the main opposition party.
